The first days of school have come and gone - the kids are old pros at it now. Still working on getting to bed at a decent hour, but so far there has been little complaining or whining in the morning. Actually none from Isaac, but a little from Saraya.
Saraya is a big girl at Little Phins. Most of her classmates have moved into the older classroom, but she and one other little friend stayed in the portable. A whole new group of 3 year-olds moved up and so now she and Anna are the mentors to these little ones. She sees her older friends on the playground and in the gym, as well as before and after school, but it is a little different having a whole new group of kids to meet.
Our First Grader!! He is a big boy.
He got the teacher he wanted - she also happens to be our neighbor. I guess she will find out if this is a good or bad thing! He has about 22 kids in his class which is down from the 28 we were expecting (they added another class). He has many of his friends from kindergarten in the class, but we have also heard about many new friends he has made as well. He loves having recess every day and getting to eat lunch at school also.
For the first time since he was 18 months, he is not having Jodi as his babysitter. This is quite the change for us all! He will be going to our neighbor's house for before and after school time on the days I work.
We are looking forward to an exciting year ahead.
