December Update

Where did December go? It has been a very busy month and I have failed to document much of the events!

The first weekend of December the kids were in the church Christmas play. Isaac had his first speaking role and he nailed his lines perfectly and got the appropriate laughs when he did so. Saraya was an angel and she also did her job perfectly - many people commented on her focus during the play. She was standing next to a little girl who didn't really have the stamina for the hour long play and was quite distracting. Saraya never took her eyes off the director during any of the songs and was very cute. Of course we did not have our video camera at the play so we captured none of the greatness.

This is the one picture I took on play night. This is right after Saraya was in hair and make-up, but she does not have her full angel costume on yet.

Here is a pic I took of Isaac - fell asleep doing a little reading. He is doing a great job with learning to read. In school he is moving through his units and keeping right on track to where a first grader should be. At home we do some practicing and reading together, but it was fun to see him choose to read on his own in bed.

We got our tree in early December. Another pretty one! The kids did a great job decorating it and finding all the special ornaments.

The rest of December has been busy with school and work activities. Isaac also started basketball and has practice 2 times a week. He is enjoying the practices and his dribbling and shooting skills are really improving. Saraya finished up another round of swimming lessons and has passed onto the next level. It is fun seeing her jump into the water by herself and swim a short distance unassisted.
