We had another great trip to the East Coast in July. It is always so fun seeing the family.
We had some good hot weather so the kids loved playing in the pool. Here is our nephew Caden - 4 years old. All the cousins got along great!!
Getting ready for the Deposit Days parade! We also enjoyed carnival games and rides, fireworks and an arts and crafts show as part of the Deposit Days festival. More cousins! Saraya and Isaac enjoyed meeting with the extended family - it is always great to see all the kids together.
Grandpa D and his girl.
Here is the group of all the cousins (and two family friends).
Grandma Maria and Grandpa D with their crew: Us, Lori, Caden and Darren and Jamie, Nora and James.
Scott and his cousins and brothers: Dan, Scott, Ben, Darren, Nate, Jenny, and James

Here she is with all the great-grand kids.

The next day after the big family party, the four of us went to see Scott's Aunt and his cousins. They live on a farm deep in rural New York. It was a very pretty drive and fun to see some farm animals.

Feeding the baby goat.
Amber and Brooke.
Us with Aunt Mary.
The gang.
Back to Deposit we went and spent some time at the festival doing a couple rides and games. We had a great time in New York!
Part 2 of our trip was in Washington DC. So much fun! We got in town around 4pm on Monday and didn't stop until we left.
In front of the American Indian Museum.
Natural History Museum.
White House.
Me: "That is a lot of grass to take care of! I wonder if President Obama has to mow it all himself?"
Isaac: "His wife probably does it because he is too busy."
National Monument.
Have to have these pics.
Coming right out of my head!
Tomb of the unknown soldier. So touching.
On top of Arlington Cemetery.
At Ford Theater. Lincoln was shot behind the kids. I think this was the most fascinating to me. There have been over 15,000 books written on this man and he continues to be a leader people write about and learn from. His story and legacy are amazing.
The Capital building. Gorgeous!
And the back side.
Museum of Air and Space. Pretty cool!
We left feeling very tired, but we enjoyed all that we saw. Both Scott and I got our for runs to see the Lincoln Memorial, MLK Jr. and Jefferson Memorials, and also the Vietnam and Korean War memorials. We look forward to going back some day!
Part 3 of our trip was in New Jersey at Lori, Darren and Caden's home. Grammy Karen came down to hang out with us. By the time we got there we were looking for some good relaxing time. We got it! We spent a day at the beach and a day at the pool. Didn't take any pictures. It was all fun.
They have a pretty backyard and lots of water fun so we also just enjoyed being there. We had lots of heat!

We enjoyed every part of our trip and have many good memories from it all!
